So there we are given a task by Miss Dianne Siriban our English One professor to search our names in
and see what our personal profile looks like.
Okay now first, Twitter, its an account that I used until today to share to people how my everyday life looks like, I am very much shocked when I saw Anabell Tapang on Myspace! REALLY , my Myspace account was made decades ago! And its on the number two spot of the search results. Well on second thought maybe it was my Facebook account on that supposed spot because recently I have deactivated my account on Facebook and also my Multiply account so maybe the results tagged another social networking site that has my name on it which is Myspace. I have no idea how to delete my Myspace account but I will figure it out soon!!
There are two things that caught my eyes is the result that tags, first is the "A step towards change: SAVE the Coral REEFS(De La Salle marine ...” which shows that I posted a comment to help them, well actually this is one of the projects of my fellow classmates in Computer Science Class I but then it is a plus point for my online profile because it somehow shows that I care for nature particularly the coral reefs. Second thing is the Excellence Political Party | Facebook, well this is surely a good plus point to add on my personal online profile, joining a political party also brings plus points to my online profile, well again it somehow shows that I can be a good leader and also a good follower in my past experiences.
AND THE LAST THING THAT SURPRISED ME IS THIS: Best Blogger in the Philippines really, why am I here I checked the page and there are 38 voters for my blog (I really don’t know them at all 26 followers, where did they came from) Well if not for this Google myself I wouldn’t be able to see that I am here even though I created this blog several years ago! This will be a hit for my online profile, if I continue to blog in Bloggers.com I could probably be a known Filipina Blogger!
(This is a good start for my online profile, well atleast i have a good foundation for now.)
As our professor have mentioned someday there will be new criteria for applying a job not just by passing them your résumé and having a job interview one of the new criteria will be searching your background and a good way to search is by searching your name in Google.com and the company that you will be applying for will take note on the feedback that they will be able to gather. So it will be a good impression if they see positive links, tags such as you have joined several activities that showcases your being hardworking etc.
As I have searched my name now I am quite happy that only my identity registers in Google so that means I am the only person that has a name that goes Anabell Tapang and for me it is a good thing because in this way I would not be worrying about mistaken identity issues when people are trying to view my online profile. The certain way that I see to enhance my online presence is to promote good things, and be careful of what will I post online because people might get affected and it may bring harm to them and also to my identity.
Well if I am the employer and I searched "anabell tapang" on Google well with the many plus points of joining a political party, reading her previous blogs and lastly seeing her having interest about saving the nature. I will surely hire her, this is a clean and good resume', good enough to judge that this person is a efficient worker.
